Mini ISA
You can take out two mini ISAs in any one tax year (April to April) with two different providers. However you are limited to £4000 in a stocks & shares ISA and £3000 in a cash ISA. It is not possible to have a maxi and a mini ISA in one tax year.

Cash ISA
A less risky ISA investment option Cash ISA which basically allows you to save up to £3,000 tax free per year. A cash ISA is similar to a standard savings account but you get the added benefits of paying no tax on your savings and a slightly higher interest rate. A Cash ISA is for you if you need access to your money at short notice and do not want the risk associated with stock market investment.

Stocks and Shares ISA
Investing in this type of ISA you are investing in a wrapper around a collective investment such as Unit Trusts or Gilts. This gives you the potential of stock market growth with no captial gains tax or income tax to pay on proceeds. This ISA should be seen as a longer term investment as your returns will depend on the fluctuations of the stock market - which can go down as well as up.

There are many different ISA options available so it is important to get the right one for your circumstances. Discussing your needs with an adviser might be a good idea. However please feel free to do your own research via the links below.
